    Video Description:

  • I decided to shoot this video before I trim the corals back and do a water change. There is a lot of allelopathy occuring between the various mushrooms and my expensive coral frags. Aquarium: 10 Gallon All-Glass set up in 2006. for my attempt at keeping a pair of my favorite Dottyback the Pseudochromis aldabraensis (Arabian or Neon Dottyback) which has failed 5 times trying to pair them . Equipment: The original hood was the economy All-Glass hood with two Coralife 20W power compact 50/50 bulbs which worked great. The current hood is a 70W Current USA SunPod Metal Halide Light Fixture with a 70W 20K Ushio bulb. I use a Oceanic BioCube Skimmer and the tank has around 160 GPH of flow. Livestock: Only 3 live rocks, a wild pair of Ocellaris Clowns, a Neon Dottyback (ORA), a Blue Damsel, and a mated pair of Banded Coral Shrimp. Maintenace: A 2.2 gallon Nutri Sea water jug once monthly for my water change along with changing the Seachem Matrix carbon. DT's phytoplankton, AquaVitro 8.4, Calcification, and Fuel all dosed twice weekly at the same time. ChemiClean is dosed as needed for Cyanobacteria.
