Saltwater Aquarium Reef

  • This reef was rebuilt in August of 2010 after establishing it in september of 2009. We were able to hand pick most of everything to build this unique 2 story rock structure with lots of soft coral reef all around it. The reef is built kinda of like a football, allowing the fish to swim all the way around if needed, but at the same time hiding the pumps from the plain sight. The water is turned by x2 powerheads (Korola 4 and a maxijet 1200 with mod. Not sure the size of the return pump. The skimmer is a G-4 sitting in a 2 chamber 30 gallon tall sump. Unfortunately the aquarium is not drilled and still uses a portable overflow box, mainly cause I inherited the aquarium. The lighs system is a ice cap ballast powering x2 175w 20k medal halide. Also x2 Vho super attenic. 454 bulbs. I also have x3 moon lights that I never really use. The aquarium is loaded with fish. So far this aquarium has ben a delight and kind of therapy at the end of the day to observe and relax. Anyway hope you enjoy what I have built cause we had a lot of fun putting it together.
