  • This is my desktop nano. Display area is 17L/4.5gal with a total water volume of 38L/11gal. The tank has been running for 6 months but a weir has been added and running as is for 2 weeks. I have LPS, Jardinii, anchor coral, acans, chalice. Aslo softies, mushies, zoas, palys, leather, sinularia. The tank is a 12inch/300mm cube with a 30litre bucket for a sump. The return pump is 1200l/hr which produces about 450l/hr in tank flow after head loss. The mantis (g.smithii) is the owner and smashes a pistol shrimp a week for food. Otherwise, it just hangs out all day occasionally going for a few laps of the tank. I add CaribSea Aragamight daily to maintain 450ppm ca. The product contains all other essential elements including mg. There is a gravity fed Auto top up and the tank is lit with a 70 watt metal halide shopfitter with a 20k bulb to bring out the colour in the corals. Coraline growth has been steady. All of the rock in the display was dead coral from a beach and the Live rock is in the sump along with a bag of carbon. The LR in the tank is about 30% covered in coraline now.
